Although most modern cars are designed to run on smooth tarmac, there are plenty of vehicles out there that can tackle off-road terrains as well. Some are only useful if you find yourself on a countryside road, while others are well-equipped to climb mountains if you wish to do so. In fact, there are competitions out there that challenge drivers to navigate extremely unpleasant environments.
Make your way to the finish line as smoothly as possible
Off-Road Paradise: Trial 4x4 is a casual arcade game in which you have to drive off-road vehicles across a variety of challenging terrains and complete a few objectives along the way. You get to customize your cars and unlock better ones as you progress, and the physics simulation is convincing enough not to be silly, but don't expect a truly hardcore experience either.
To begin with, there are multiple modes to choose from, depending on whether you want a quick challenge or undertake a full career. The latter provides you with a smoother difficulty curve, since you start with a tutorial and make your way up to harder and harder levels. The career is also where you can unlock better vehicles and more parts for them, so it's definitely worth a shot.
Upgrade your vehicles with new components

As mentioned before, you are usually rewarded with vehicle parts whenever you manage to successfully complete a stage. These parts include new paint jobs, rims, engines, as well as a few other interesting upgrades that keep you engaged. Speaking of which, most stages usually require you to collect a few totems along the way in order to award any prizes at the end.

The suspension reacts to the terrain in a convincing manner, but the vehicles themselves seem to accelerate rather quickly and behave weirdly if you try to steer too hastily. In addition, the graphics are actually very nice, especially when it comes to post-processing effects and the 3D models of the cars.
A great experience for casual sim lovers
In the end, Off-Road Paradise: Trial 4x4 is a tad too simple for hardcore off-road fans, but it's just right for those who are not too picky when it comes to physics and gameplay mechanics. Thus, the multitude of vehicles and upgrades, plus the many available levels should keep you engaged for a pretty long time.
